Paddling in the rain

OK not a lot of trash was on the actual surface of the water, but the temptation to paddle during the rain was to great to pass up.

Most storms include lighting however this was pure rain and wind and in fact it was warmer paddling (due to the skirt) than it was unloading and launching the kayak.

Remember if it ice's on Sunday meet us a Flag Pole hill for some downhill kayak racing!

Can you identify this trash??? Actully can you identify who helped round up the refuse??? If you can please give us a call at 214 669 1663 we have a little gift for your efforts in keeping the lake clean. In fact during any second Saturday your welcome to join us on the ground or on the water to help collect the trash. We'll provide the grabbers, the trash and recycle bags and if your adventureous we let you clean up from a kayak too! Join us at Jackson Point on the West side of Whiterock Lake and help us get "trashed" once a month at the lake!

OMG!!! A Big thanks to Fran for cleaning up on what will be the worst day of the year for cleaning up! Yes it was raining, yes it was cold too, and yes the wind was biting cold and guess what, despite all that Fran still takes advantage of all the trash being blown/floated up on shore, and during the ice storm continues to volunteer her time and energy into keeping the lake clean. In fact we had three stalwart souls that braved the weather and collected several bags of trash and recycleables along with some drift wood and a couple of balls to boot! And remember next you think it too wet to go outside or to cold and windy, it's OK to think it but please don't say out loud it to Fran!
